Your choices on this browser
Essential sign-in/security storage and a temporary Team assignment draft support features you request. Optional question preferences start switched off. Your choice applies to this browser, including other people who use the same browser profile.
Turning this off removes ALN’s saved question preferences from this browser. It does not erase your account’s saved attempts or Notes progress. Advertising and third-party analytics are not enabled; there are no advertising or analytics choices to accept.
1. What storage is used?
Cookies are small values your browser sends with requests. Local storage stays in the browser across visits; session storage generally lasts for a tab’s session. Both are covered here.
| Name / provider | Purpose and category | Duration |
|---|---|---|
__Host-session (production) or session (development) · ALN | Signed session information for login and security. Essential. | Before login: browser session. After login: up to 30 days, refreshed as you use ALN. Signing out clears the authenticated session. |
csrf_token · ALN | Protects against another site making unwanted requests as you. Essential. | Browser session; can be replaced when the security token changes. Browser session-restore behaviour can preserve session cookies. |
alnPrivacyChoice:v1 · ALN local storage | Records your yes/no choice for question preferences, version and choice time. Essential preference record; saved only after a choice. | 180 days; after that optional preferences stop being used and are cleared on the next visit to a page loading the controls. The expired choice is removed then. |
aceQuestionsState:v1 · ALN local storage | Question filters, search text, selected subject/question and tab. Optional preference storage. | While your choice remains valid, until replaced, withdrawn or cleared. Cleanup occurs when a page loading the controls is opened. |
sidebarCollapsed · ALN local storage | Remembers whether the question sidebar is collapsed. Optional preference storage. | Same as question preferences. |
aceTeamAssignmentDraft:v1 · ALN session storage | Keeps an assignment draft while you move between Teams and the question picker. Supports the assignment-creation feature you request. | Until successful save, replacement or the end of the tab session; session restoration can affect this. |
2. Other providers
When you choose to pay or manage billing, you leave ALN for Stripe-hosted pages. Stripe controls storage on those pages for payment, fraud prevention and any optional features it offers. ALN’s preference switch does not control a separate Stripe page. See Stripe’s Cookie Policy and Stripe’s cookie settings and inventory.
ALN serves its fonts from its own servers, so pages make no requests to font providers. ALN loads no advertising, analytics or social-media scripts.
Cloudflare delivers and protects the website. It sets no cookies on ALN pages at present. If we switch on its automated-traffic protection, it may set a short-lived security cookie, and we will list it here.
We last checked the live website against this page on 2 October 2026: it set only the two essential cookies above, and no third-party requests.
3. Changing your mind or clearing storage
Use Cookie settings from the page footer whenever you want. “Use essential only” withdraws optional preference consent as easily as enabling it. It does not sign you out, stop paid access or delete saved learning records on ALN’s servers. If storage is blocked, question practice continues without remembering preferences between visits.
You can also clear or block ALN cookies/site data in your browser. Blocking essential cookies may prevent sign-in and protected actions from working. Clearing your choice returns optional preferences to off. On a shared device, close assignment tabs and sign out after studying. Browser history and URLs may still contain searches or selected question identifiers; this switch does not remove browser history.
4. Changes and new technologies
There is currently no optional analytics or advertising integration to activate. If this changes, we will update this information and provide the required choices before loading consent-requiring technologies. Consent to question preferences is not consent to analytics, advertising or an unrelated purpose.
