2. Accounts and young learners
Use accurate account information, keep your password private and tell us if your account may have been misused. New accounts sign in with an email address and show other people a display name. Your display name must follow section 7 and must not pretend to be someone else or ALN staff. Older accounts and accounts created by a school sign in with a username. Each learner needs their own account so that progress and assignments are associated with the right person. Shared plans provide separate seats; they do not authorise sharing one login.
Age: you must be 13 or older to create your own ALN account. ALN does not offer accounts for children under 13, including accounts created by a school. If you are under 18, use ALN with a parent, guardian or school’s involvement. Only adults (18 or over) may buy a plan, and they must have permission to use the payment method. School staff must be authorised to create or manage accounts and must give learners appropriate information.
At signup you confirm that you are at least 13; when a school creates an account, its staff confirm it for the student. Before each purchase, the buyer confirms: “I am at least 18 and authorised to make this purchase.” We record these statements. They are your own declarations; ALN does not verify age. If we learn that an account belongs to a child under 13, we will delete it. Anyone can tell us by emailing the operator contact above with the account’s email address or username.
3. What ALN provides
ALN provides exam-question practice, saved attempts, study Notes, learning summaries, Paper Analysis, Teams and related learning tools. Features, coverage and usage allowances depend on your plan and any sponsored access. Check Plans and model-answer coverage before buying for a particular subject.
Learning materials, including model answers and any AI-assisted material, may contain mistakes. ALN is a study aid: it does not guarantee a grade, predict what will appear on an exam, or replace your course specification and teacher’s guidance. Report suspected errors using the available report tool or support contact. We review reports promptly. When we confirm a material error, we correct the material or temporarily withdraw it within seven working days, and sooner if it is seriously misleading. Some reports need longer to investigate, for example where more than one answer may be acceptable. We will provide paid services with reasonable care and skill; these explanations do not remove your rights if the service is faulty or misdescribed.
You need a compatible modern web browser and internet connection. PDF downloads need a PDF reader. We do not promise that all features work offline or on every device.
4. Plans, prices and purchases
Before payment, review the product, included access, total price and currency, billing interval or fixed duration, any seat or subject restriction, and any discount conditions. Applicable taxes and unavoidable charges must be included or clearly explained before you place the order. The final payment screen must make clear that confirming the order creates a payment obligation.
Paid plans are currently sold only to customers in the countries listed on the Plans page. Free access is available everywhere. If a purchase is made from a country where paid plans are not yet available, as shown by the billing address and payment details, we will cancel it and refund it in full. No paid access is granted.
- Basic and Premium plans are sold monthly or annually and renew for the stated billing period until cancelled. Annual prices cover a year and are charged annually, not in monthly instalments. The features included at each level are shown on Plans.
- Subject access is a monthly or annual recurring plan covering the exact exam board, qualification and subject selected.
- Exam Season Pass is a one-time purchase for 60 days of access starting when payment is confirmed. It does not renew automatically.
- Family & Study Group access covers up to five accounts, including the owner, while the group’s paid entitlement is active.
- Pay for one learner is a monthly or annual plan bought by an adult from their own account. It gives Premium to one learner who joins with the buyer’s code and keeps their own login; the buyer’s own account is not upgraded by it.
- Teacher-sponsored packs cover the selected subject and 5, 10 or 20 assigned learner seats. Ordinary Team membership does not itself use a paid sponsored seat.
- School plans are provided only under a separate written agreement with the school. They use the agreed per-active-student monthly price and synchronises the active-student count, with a one-seat billing minimum. Seat changes can affect the amount charged.
The price shown on Plans is the total you pay, in the currency shown. We sell paid plans only in countries where we do not currently have to charge sales tax or VAT, so no tax is added at checkout. If that changes for your country, we will show the tax-inclusive total before you pay. Your bank may charge its own fee for a payment in a foreign currency.
Stripe hosts checkout and billing management. Access starts once payment is confirmed and processed by ALN. A browser success message alone does not establish payment. We will provide a durable order confirmation with the agreed terms and payment information.
Free trial: a new account can try Premium free for 7 days. The trial starts when you confirm your email address. We don’t ask for a card, nothing is charged and nothing renews: the trial ends by itself after 7 days, and the account goes back to the Free plan with its saved progress. To keep Premium you choose and pay for a plan yourself. There is one trial per person and per email address (addresses that deliver to the same inbox count as one). Trials are not offered to school-managed accounts or to accounts that already have or had a paid plan or promotional access. We may refuse or end a trial that is being abused, for example by making extra accounts to get more trials.
Discounts apply only for their stated period and conditions. Access codes and promotional grants are separate from paid subscriptions; redeeming one does not cancel a subscription or create a refund. Their scope and expiry must be disclosed when issued.
5. Renewals, changes and cancellation
For recurring plans, Stripe charges the agreed payment method each billing period until cancellation takes effect. Use Plans → Manage billing, or the billing control in your Family, Team or School workspace. Review the cancellation confirmation and effective date. If you cannot use the portal, contact the operator above with a clear request to cancel.
Stopping renewal normally keeps paid access until the end of the paid period, subject to the cancellation option confirmed. Stopping payment is separate from deleting an account, leaving a group or uninstalling a browser. The Cancellation & Refunds policy explains refunds and cooling-off rights.
Before you approve a plan, pack or seat change, its financial effect should be explained, including any prorated charge or credit. School administrators should check this before changing the active-student roster. If we change the price of a recurring plan, we will email you at the address used at checkout at least 30 days before the new price applies, and you can cancel before it does.
A failed or ended payment can remove paid features, including sponsored access. Any separate valid entitlement remains subject to its own conditions. Ending a subscription does not automatically delete saved learning data.
6. Teams, families and schools
Teams and Family groups are joined only with a code from the group’s owner (school classes are managed by the school). Owners and authorised staff are responsible for who they give their code to, seat assignments and membership decisions within their permissions. Share a code only with people you know and are entitled to teach or support, and make a new code if it reaches anyone else. Do not misrepresent a school, teacher or another learner. Members can leave a group at any time.
Group participation makes some account and assignment information visible to others. Read who can see your information before joining or creating a group. Teachers and team managers can see each member’s progress; other members cannot see your individual progress. Removing a member or ending sponsorship can remove shared paid access.
A separate signed school agreement may set organisational pricing, authorised use and data-processing instructions. It states which terms take priority for that arrangement and cannot remove an individual’s mandatory rights. It includes data-processing terms under which the school is the controller of its pupils’ learning records and we act on its instructions.
7. Keeping ALN safe
ALN is used by learners aged 13 and over. Anything you write that other people can see, such as a Team name, description, assignment or group name, and your display name or username, must be suitable for them. You must not use ALN to share or link to:
- child sexual abuse material, or anything that sexualises a child, or any attempt to contact a learner for a purpose unrelated to learning;
- pornography or other sexual content;
- content that encourages or gives instructions for suicide, self-harm or eating disorders;
- bullying, harassment, threats, or abuse or hate aimed at people because of who they are;
- violent, terrorist or extremist content, or content promoting dangerous challenges;
- content promoting illegal drugs, weapons or other crimes, scams, fraud or spam;
- anything else that is illegal or infringes someone else’s rights.
Reporting: use the Report button next to anything another user wrote, or email help@acelearningnow.com. We aim to review a report suggesting a risk to a child within 24 hours, and other reports within two working days. We never tell the person reported who reported them. If someone is in immediate danger, contact the emergency services first.
What we may do: remove content, remove a member from a group, suspend or close an account, and report illegal content to the police or another authority. Where it is safe and lawful, we tell the account holder what we did and why.
Complaints and appeals: if you disagree with a decision about your content or account, or think we did not deal properly with a report, email help@acelearningnow.com with the details. We acknowledge it within two working days, look at it again and tell you the outcome. If we got it wrong, we restore what we removed. A named senior person at Korek Production F.Z.E is accountable for these safety measures.
8. Acceptable use and learning materials
Use ALN for legitimate learning and teaching. Do not harass others, upload unlawful content, use another person’s account, bypass access controls or quotas, disrupt the service, or extract and redistribute the question/content library without permission. Do not use the service to cheat on a live assessment or impersonate someone.
ALN is an independent service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed, approved or licensed by AQA, Pearson Edexcel or any other awarding body; their names are used only to identify the qualifications our content relates to. ALN branding and original materials belong to their owners. Exam papers, questions, mark schemes and other third-party materials remain the property of the relevant awarding body and, where indicated, of other rights holders. Model answers, notes and explanations are prepared by ALN (some with AI assistance, then checked), are not provided or approved by any awarding body, and may not be the only acceptable answers. Access to ALN does not transfer any rights in third-party material. Use permitted downloads for your own learning or authorised teaching; any wider copying needs the relevant permission or a legal exception.
You retain rights in original text you submit. You give ALN only the permission needed to store, display and process that text to deliver the requested feature and share it with its intended group or recipients. You must have the right to submit it.
Automated extraction and AI training. ALN’s own notes, model answers and explanations are protected by copyright. You may use them for your own study, including quoting a short passage to a tool, a tutor or an AI assistant to get help with it. Without our written permission, you may not copy them in bulk, scrape or systematically download them, or use them to train, fine-tune or evaluate an AI model. We reserve these rights, including against text and data mining under Article 4(3) of Directive (EU) 2019/790 and similar rules elsewhere. This clause covers only material ALN owns. It does not claim any rights in exam-board papers, questions or mark schemes, which belong to the awarding bodies.
Past exam questions, mark schemes and examiner materials remain the property of their exam boards and other rights holders. ALN shows only papers that the boards have already released publicly. If you hold rights in material on ALN and have a concern, contact the operator above and identify the material. We aim to reply within two working days and will remove material promptly where appropriate.
9. Availability, restrictions and ending accounts
We may need to interrupt the service for maintenance or to address security issues. Where practical we will explain material interruptions. If a paid service is continuously unavailable, or substantially unusable, for seven days or more, you may cancel and we will refund the unused prepaid part of your plan. We will handle shorter interruptions fairly, case by case. This does not limit any remedy the law gives you sooner. We may proportionately restrict accounts that breach these terms or pose a security risk, give reasons where safe and lawful, and provide a way to challenge a mistake through support. Serious misuse can require immediate action.
We will not use a terms change to remove a paid service already purchased without an appropriate remedy. If we permanently stop a paid service or withdraw access for our convenience, the proposed policy is a refund for the unused prepaid period. Mandatory remedies remain available in other cases.
You can request account deletion in Settings. The current flow may require cancellation of renewing subscriptions and resolution of school or Family ownership first. An ordinary Team owner’s deletion can remove the owned Teams and assignments. See the Privacy Notice before deleting.
10. Responsibility and your legal rights
We are responsible for foreseeable loss caused by our breach of contract or failure to use reasonable care and skill, subject to applicable law. You should take reasonable steps to avoid avoidable loss, such as keeping copies of important permitted downloads.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability or consumer right that the law does not allow us to exclude. In particular, rights relating to faulty or misdescribed digital content and services remain available. No blanket “no refunds” rule applies.
11. Contact, disputes and updates
Send service, billing and complaint requests to the operator contact above, with enough information to identify the account or transaction. Do not include your password or full payment-card details. We will investigate complaints and explain the outcome.
These terms are governed by the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates and, where applicable, the laws of the Emirate of Ajman. The courts in Ajman have jurisdiction. This does not remove any mandatory consumer protection or complaint route available to you under UAE law. If you are a consumer living outside the UAE, this choice of law does not take away the protection of the mandatory laws of your country, and you may bring proceedings in the courts where you live. We do not require disputes to go to arbitration.
Material changes will be notified with their effective date and an explanation. Where a change materially disadvantages a paying user, they should be able to end the affected service before it applies and receive any remedy required by law. Changes do not rewrite completed purchases retrospectively.
